We’re Married!

I can’t wait to recap with you all and show off pics but I’m gonna get back o enjoying my honeymoon for now 😀 See ya in a few days!

P.S. It turned out great! No rain… a few minor glitches… but totally beautiful, fun, and great!

9 Days!

Let’s all pray that this Texas Bi-Polar weather does not deviate too far from this forecast :-/

PWC: Post Wedding Chop

With the wedding just 11 days away I am already planning for my post wedding hair cut. I want to get it done the following Friday because I want to use my trusted hair lady at least one more time before the move.

Since I have the natural wave, I want to get a cut that isn’t too short and can be worn both curly and straight. I’ve found a definite style I like and now I will show you a few celebs who sport it well 🙂

Aren’t these girls so cute with their medium length curls? Did anyone else do the PWC?

Georgeous Flower Centerpieces on the Cheap

I literally swooned when I saw Everyday by Rachel Ray run this amazing piece on flowery centerpieces. As the middle-class American family guru, Rachel has associated her name with an incredible group of creative people to provide this gorgeous line of centerpiece inspiration that won’t break the bank.

I will even admit that we have adjusted our centerpiece plan to incorporate one of these ideas and I cannot wait to show you all the pics when we have it all set-up 🙂

{source}

Incorporate your regular grocery budget with your wedding decoration budget? Can you say “Score!” It’s amazing how simple fruit and veggie cans put together with some basic mums can look so retro classy.

{source}

Lush blooms in a creative display that make simply vases look stunning and require far fewer blooms per table… totally loving this idea!

{source}

The best part about this gorgeous display is the price! You can get away with using cheap silk flowers since the glass will distort the appearance so guests won’t know if they are real or not. At about a $1 a glass (based upon my own Ebay stemware purchases) and $.25 a votive (you can get a case of 24 for $6 at Big Lots) you can create this set for around $2 a display. Such a bargain!

Who would have thought jello could look so cute with embedded fresh flowers?

{source}

I think this is a refreshing twist on classic centerpieces for all you Latino/Chicano brides out there. Pinto Beans! Totally unexpected and adorable 🙂

{source}

This is a very creative centerpiece for either a kids table or the wedding of an artist type couple. It seems so fun and playful and can yo imagine how much money you would save by using butcher paper as table coverings instead of cloth linens?

Hope this gets you all inspired and thinking our of the box when you decide to use flowers in your tablescapes 🙂

Home Decor Inspiration: Round One

Since I’ve dropped the bomb about the house now I can start sharing my specific decoration plans and inspirations 🙂

Today I discovered the lovely blog  The Boardwalk Blotter that has all these great diy home decor clippings from other websites. That started me on a whirlwind of goodness 🙂

We are going to have this amazing tree in our back yard that we will be hanging some sort of wooden swing from. There are also a couple rose bushes and a fig tree so I want to install something like this gorgeous bird rest…

{source}

And this lovely ceiling really wants me to do the tissue paper finish on one of our walls. Maybe in our green bathroom since that’s the first project we will be starting…

{source}

And lastly… I found this gorgeous vintage flocked wallpaper from Etsy shop Birds Nests & Paper. It is so beautiful but is cut down to 7×10 sheets so I want to make a nice piece of wall art out of it.

The flocked yellow is set on a gorgeous metallic silvery champagne background and since our kitchen is already yellow and will have red accents I want to mount this paper on canvas and arrange it like this…

Stay tune for more ideas 🙂

The Wedding Sign

Despite being in the sign business and having a dad who owns a sign business, Luke was the one who made this incredibly lovely sign for the entrance of our wedding venue. It’s going to be mounted inside a 3’x7′ wooden sign frame already at the entrance.

Didn’t he do a fantastic job? Maybe I’ll get him to post a diy tutorial after the big day… Whose up for a welding project? 😛

I’m ready to come clean…

Seeing as how I just got my first negative comment (yes it got to me) concerning my recent lack of inspiring posts I want to come clean on the several reasons why I’ve been so quiet on personal stuff…

Ready?

{inspired by the lovely title banners on I Love You Much}

How so?

1. The obvious reason being that the wedding is in 16 days! Yes SIXTEEN! And there still is a buttload to do so I’m a little frazzled and trying to hunker down on crunch time.

2. Finals consumed my life for a couple of weeks. As my last batch of finals ever I had a few mind bottling projects that needed to leave a major wow factor. So I was freaked out and trying to kick some college booty.

4. I haven’t been working all month so finances are getting “tight” and that of course gets me down 😦

3. This one is going to reveal that BIG NEWS I keep referencing…

WE ARE BUYING A HOUSE O_O

Or trying to at least… and are dealing with all the stresses there in… And let me tell you it’s be stressful… I kept hoping to tell you all and show you pics and my plans as soon as we closed… That was suppose to happen on April 30th. 13 days later and still no closure, hopefully by Friday but that’s been said every Friday. All I can say is Mortgage People SUCK! And our particular lady is a humongo MORON who doesn’t know how to file a single thing! (Expect a scathing review once this is all said and done)

4. This was possibly the biggest stress of all: Last Thursday Luke lost his job O_O

Can you talk about perfect timing? You know it’s not like our wedding was right around the corner and we were anticipating the signing of closing paper on a house and the writing of that big ole down payment check. I am proud to say I did not cry 🙂

And I’m only telling you this now because Luke started his new job today. Yes, my amazing honey had the incredible fortune to only be unemployed for 3 whole days! And his new job is fantastic! Way better pay, great schedule (he’s home by mid-afternoon), 45 hours a week equals overtime pay 🙂 So guess what? I don’t have to stress about finding a job. Don’t get me wrong, I WANT to work… I didn’t go to school for nothing… but I don’t HAVE to work. My working is fully by choice and that income will be 100% for rainy day funds! I LOVE having rainy day funds! Especially when we have that ever wonderful home remodeling project staring us in the face. And can I say having some time to work on the house before going to work is a major stress relief.

So thanks for being patient with me folks while I get through these coming few weeks. And I promise you I have some big and exciting plans for this blog in store for you all. Plus of course I have craft updates backlogged from like February and the ever wonderful wedding recaps. So I love you all and I hope you can help see me through to this wedding and send your happy thoughts my way.

Thanks All!

This week has been STRESSFUL!

But I’ve still found a bit of time to check out my reader and here’s a few things that sparked my interest…

{broken*saucer}

I love this post on blue wedding dresses! You know I’m not sure if I ever told you all but my grandmother were a blue wedding dress for her wedding back in 1959. And it was borrowed too! My grandma’s a pretty cool lady, isn’t she? 🙂 {Hi grandma!}

These make me so hungry for pie and what an adorable favor idea!

{Jess Lehry Designs}

Jess aka The Budget Savvy Bride never ceases to amaze me with her amazing work.

And finally I totally want my new office space to be a cross between these two beautiful room!
